Introduction

Carol Forman comes from a traditional photography background.  However, her vision has always leaned toward the abstract while capturing the literal object.

Carol has a purist approach to making a photograph.  The intersection of light, object and nature illuminates itself poetically and the goal is to record that moment as it is.  It is not random or haphazard.

Carol sees in an abstract way. Cropping is rarely used outside of the camera body.  Her photography has evolved to a place where when one looks at an image from a distance they see abstract forms of color, light; texture… possibly even a painting… yet on closer examination one can see what ‘it’ is.  A wall, a crack, a window… the tiny detail of these objects and textures are what make up these expressive images.

The goal is for the viewer to feel the image, to be freed of the need to attach meaning to what is presented.
